Anyone know of any reliable flight case retailers either in Dublin or online? I need a case for a 2x12 combo (vox ac30) with wheels as its a heavy bugger. Any Suggestions? I've seen a few places online which vary in price & quality. Most seem to be made of 10mm ply wood... seems a bit flimsy, or is that the standard material? Also, people on other forums advise that you by an ATA certified xase, any idea what ATA stands for?

ATA stands for air transport association, the body who set the guidelines for what spec is suitable for transport of gear by air,so it's not a brand as such
all my ATA style cases are damn heavy!,and can easily take my bodyweight standing on the case

Well unless you have a roadie I'd look at some of the Skb plastic cases. If you've a heavy amp there is no point in putting it in a wooden flightcase.... Think of your poor back. Just make sure your flightcase has wheels.

A centimetre of birch plywood is heavy enough. Plywood is the standard for flight cases.

I heard this place was good, though I've never bought anything from them: http://www.dublinflightcase.com/
It's in Dublin so I imagine it's more expensive than it should be though.
