    Hi,

Long Story Short We changed BB provider to Eircom last week, Low and behold My desktop (which is a bare 10 meters from it) Cannot Connect to the DSL Router (Netopia 2247-02), So I plugged my trusty Netgear WPN824 router into the Ethernet on the Netopia one and after a bit of config My PC connected fine to the Netgear Router. I do have a few issues however.

Today I have 80% signal from the Netgear Router, but I'm gettting 9kpbs D/L, on a PC connected directly to the Eircom Router I'm getting 1.7Mps D/L. I don't know where the Slow down is caused. Its up to 700kbps now but the other night I was getting 1.7kbps.

I need to set up Port Forwarding to My PC. but How do I do it through Two Routers?

I have the PC set up with a Static IP on the Netgear Router, but Can I set up a Static Line all the way to the Netopia router?

Is it possible to set up a Static IP on the Eircom router so My External IP is always the same?

    Cheers.

    McA

Nope, Eircom use dynamic ip address allocation. Easiest way to configure everything is to put the netopia into bridge mode and let the Netgear handle the connection. That way you have only one device to configure, setup ports etc.

an alternative to the static ip issue is to register with a service like no-ip.info. You have a client that informs their service of your ip. you get a hostname (username.no-ip.info) which forwards to your current ip.

    http://www.no-ip.com/
"static dns for your dynamic ip"
