Maybe the same again ? All depends on the local Garda administration and workload really.

12 weeks for myself , but know of some people waiting up to a year. Depends on the Garda District but I already held a Shotgun so that may have speeded it up

8 weeks so far for a shotgun license and still no sign of it coming. I was told it went up to Dublin, for whaterver they do up there with it, 3 weeks ago. I'll call in to the FO tomorrow and see if there's any move on it. Applied for a 22lr 3 weeks ago so hopefully that will come quicker.
:) Could be some fun in the summer when I apply for a 308 license, I expect to be waiting 12-24 months for that one to come.:)

I'd suggest poking them again, to be honest, can't be more than a few days to Dublin, then two days in the Phoenix Park, and then a few days back to you. Doesn't sound level to me. If it went to Dublin three weeks ago, you should be holding it now.

10 weeks for the .22lr, 8 weeks for the 12g.

Is the 3 month max waiting time implemented yet?

I'm in the same town as Triggerpull. Getting a licence approved for anything but machine guns and jet fighters is not the problem. It's finding the guy to hand you the licence that's the problem. :D. In fairness to our local members of the force : when they're in the station they're a sound enough bunch and the town has grown quite a bit over a the last while and they're not really an overstaffed station. The bad news is that I heard the current Super is retiring soon...

As far as I know, that's in force, if not in action.

Does the 3 month max wait actually work?
Might you get refused out of spite?

Then it is off to the District Court with you to appeal.

Did you know that there are regulations in place that state the maximum time for the gaurds to process a license is three months.
