If you don't necessarily want to buy it, the National Library and Trinity Library might be worth a shot. AFAIK, Trinity is a depositary library so everything published in the UK and Ireland should have at least one copy there.

But non-Trinity students can't use Trinity facilities...

Apparently we've even got copies of playboy and "how to homegrow your marijuana" etc.!

If the national library can't help a letter to Trinity would be worth a shot I think.

    god I'm freezing here today.

what i'm finding with photography books , is they ae great to reference every now and then , rather tham devouring them in one swoop , thats the big advantage of buying -- swoop in every now and then for some inspiration, ideas , got a couple of nice ones by Cartier , and a great one on Roma life.

I'm in DIT and we can use Trinners' library. Just need to sort out a pass or something..

That's because some of the courses being taught in DIT are accredited by Trinity so some DIT students are also Trinity students - optometry used to be but not anymore. There's a few other colleges/institutes that are linked to Trinity too (a teaching institute if I remember correctly).

Not everyone will be able to get a day pass (and especially if you're looking for unusual books that need to be shipped down from Santry - I don't know if even day pass holders have that service available to them...)

There is a copy in Trinity but you probably wouldn't be able to get it. Its in a section called early printed books so you can't even borrow it, only look at it in the library! Is there an inter-library loan agreement between the national library of ireland and trinity? I know there is between the different universities but im not too sure whether that extends to the national library.

    Hmmmm, could it be photographed?

I just stuck his name into google and got this from hsi exhibition in 2003. They might be worth a try, even if they have it in store?

Talk to the people in the Gallery of Photography, they would know. I think I saw one in a glass case before.
