Snooker Exhibitions

    Hi there,

I have been trying to find out about exhibitions on various websites - but there just doesn't seem to be any information. I know that in one of the threads on this board, somebody said that exhibitions were advertised in the local clubs. I never saw anything.

How can I find information online? It would be great to know about an event a bit in advance, so that it's possible to organize transport etc.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Guys,

On another note, how does one go about organising one of these? I'm involved in a voluntary organisation and know they can be a serious fundraiser. However, I have a feeling that the proceeds only go to a certain few causes? Can anyone enlighten me?!

The ribsa website is a catastrophe. It doesn't have well-structured information; it's hard to find anything -- and it didn't matter when I looked, I never saw anything else under "Upcoming Exhibitions" than "None at present". However, in the Selby thread, somebody said "Selby's a class act on and off the table. Go to one of the exhibitions he's at next week in Moate or Drogheda and see for yourself." That was in February. So where was this announced? I certainly didn't hear of it; otherwise I'd have tried to go there.

I also tried finding information on worldsnooker.com, a website that is even worse than the ribsa website. Nothing. However, there seem to be exhibitions going on all the time - so how to find out about them?

    Thanks.

Local ones are advertised fairly well by posters etc. I heard about that one in Moate, only because I work cloe by. But I see what you mean about travelling to ones a bit further away from you... there really is no way of finding out !! Although I dont think it's the fault of any umbrella body, as the exhibitions seem to be organised by the group that benefit from the proceeds?? Maybe I'm wrong ... maybe somebody in the know could enlighten us !

ribsa don't organise exibitions clubs and indivuals do.the web site can only advertise if ribsa are informed by the person running the event.
try players websites for info reguarding exibition work but be warned its expensive.
    doherty 4000 euro
    o sullivan/white 5000euro
be sure you can fill the venue before booking them or risk a loss

My father organises all the ones down around Limerick and Clare. He had Jimmy White and Alex Higgins over 2 weeks ago. He does 3-4 a year, always a big success.

    Hey,

Does he contact the players directly?! Or how does he go about it? It seems almost impossible to find any info on how to organise one!

Yeah he does. He has contact details for all the players he has brought over including Ronnie, Davis, Hendry, Drago, Higgins and White. He knows most of them pretty well by this stage, he collected Hurricane the other day from Cork airport in his own car, madness.
