Does anyone know of any good and reliable websites (preferably US sites that deliver here) where i could buy one of these? I've been to thomann.de and their price is a little higher then the US prices ive seen.

Also has anyone much experience with these guitars? any comments about it would be appreciated.

Keep in mind that if you buy from the USA you WILL have to pay VAT+Customs fees which come to approx 25% of the value of the instrument (inc shipping). Check out the musical instrument sticky for more information and a handy excel based calculator. :)

TBH, Thomann is your best bet.

There are usually a few Highway 1's on adverts.ie - that way you get to check them out first too :)

There is nothing that size getting past Irish customs.....add the 25% on to your payment to the USA site.

Didn't look at one on Thomann, but the USA Fender Strat in 3 colour sunburst is only €899 with case....all in, postage and tax. Better job....

It's marked as sold but if you read the comments I get the impression it's still for sale. You could get a good deal if you make an offer on that.

Played a highway one strat, found it average, No better than a well assembled/ set up
mexican strat. Try go for an american strat if you can, or mexican and upgrade the pickups. found KINMAN woodstock 69 pickups to do the trick in my mexican.
In saying that the american strat are up there though...

Agreed. It's a personal thing so if you like the highway 1's then go for it if it suits you. I couldn't find that great a difference between highway 1s and good mexicans, but there's a big difference between highway 1s and americans. Think about it! You can get some good deals on second hand americans.

About €600 delivered on soundslive.co.uk is probably your best bet.

They have some ex display models on sale but they're only about €30 less so it's probably not worth it.
