They need to hire some kick-ass moderators.

That's absurd, I wonder how difficult it would be for someone to setup a similar forum (or perhaps even move that particular forum) to a different hosting service outside of the country, which would be immune to such threats.

a belligerant new user + admin busy with other stuff + internet discussion brought to the attention of the non-webby subject; a rare occurrence, = **** fan

if you're clever enough with your search search words you can find the thread in question with the supposed allegations on google cache

from reading the cached thread i see nothing that is clearly libelous and defamatory towards Frank Ward and Company. i have my own opinion as to what the motive and agenda behind this correspondence is but all i'll say, like most other people David and the politics.ie team have my full support on this matter.

Well thats interesting. Either DC took it down or he was instructed to do so by the men in wigs and gowns. So, the main political discussion forum is gone either way.
Welcome to the ministry of truth. I wonder how long before the mainstream media pick this up?

Thanks for the tip. You're right - I can't see what the fuss is about. I'd imagined something outrageous given what often get posted on politics.ie. I feel sorry for that original poster who has gotten a fair bit of stick for saying practically nothing. The problem is most on the site are also imagining all sorts. Hope Dave will soldier on.

.. or their hosting provider took it down, which is also a possibility as they were also mentioned in the letter.

It's back up now, along with a defiant comment from Mr Cochrane on the front page:
First Amendment of the US Constitution wrote:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Well, Politics.ie, after a wee while offline, and after a day of legal discussion on the grainne carruth issue has, apparently, moved hosts to the USA. See http://www.politics.ie/viewtopic.php?t=33210
    How interesting.....
    One wonders what next.

Yeah, didn't get to go into much detail and there's only so much you can discuss on the matter without attracting legal attention yourself... good to know Today FM are paying attention to the situation, anyway!

you'll note DC was under the impreesion from talking to todayfm he would do that interview, but as pointed out if they didn't have the law firm on maybe they couldn't have him on.

Yeah, I'd imagine the solicitor's firm would have replied with a big, fat 'no' to any suggestion of them coming on air and they then would have been listening very carefully to the bit to ensure they weren't given a hard time by whoever spoke in the end. Had it just been DC they probably would have complained about bias (although not made a legal threat).

I sure set-up one because of the goings on. I was and continue to be, disgusted at a number of things our government is up to.
The lies, the twisting of words, the cash taking, the working only ONE day in three by our TD's... Its goes on and on. Drop by and prepare to be shocked!

Example: Next year our Leader whom ever that will be now, will get 5,000 Euro a week! Thats disgraceful and thats without expenses thrown on top of that! See Berties KNOWN money trail on the site. That is another shocking list!
