    Weather hits NFL fixtures

    Saturday, 29 March 2008 17:18
The Allianz National Football League Division One game between Tyrone and Donegal due to be played in Omagh tonight has been cancelled due to an unplayable pitch.
Tyrone county chairman Pat Darcy said there was no alternative to postponement following several hours of heavy raid, as the Omagh venue is the only ground in the county with high-spec floodlights.
"It's unfortunate, but we had no other venue with floodlights, so we had no alternative but to call the game off," he said.

The decision was made immediately after the pitch was inspected at 3pm

It has been confirmed by Donegal County Secretary Crona Regan that the match has been rescheduled for Sunday afternoon at Edendork, Co Tyrone, with a 2.30pm throw-in.
Meanwhile, the NFL Division Three clash between Down and Limerick has been postponed with no new date available yet.
There are also two changes of venue in Division Two, with Monaghan's meeting with Meath now down for Scotstown, while Roscommon will host Westmeath at Kiltoom.
