I was just wondering whether everybody here uses the photography forum to buy and sell camera equipment. I check it every couple of days but kinda feel that anything of use gets sold real quickly. Are there any other places you buy and sell 2nd hand equipment?

How often do you check adverts.ie > photography 39 votes

Often - once every 2/3 days

have bought 2 cameras on adverts and sold 2

also bought 2 cameras on ebay

stuff bought on adverts has most been bought not because i was looking for stuff, but just stumbled across it and thought it was a good deal... can be hard enough to sell stuff on adverts, probably get as much on ebay i'd say, but then theres the hassle of posting

I keep an eye on adverts.ie alright but there seems to be tons more Canon equipment on there than Nikon. I did snap up Oriel's Nikkor 80-200 f2.8 before he even had a chance to ebay it this week though :D

Yeah I'd agree with the lack of Nikon stuff for sale but what can you do. Guess its because Nikon is so much better than Canon that people can't bear to part with their kit ;)

Its just a suggestion, but would it be against the rules to start a single thread where we could give a heads up of stuff that we've posted for sale or that we are looking for on adverts.ie? Only one post saying that you've stuck your lense or whatever for sale but not going into off thread dealing? it might be a good idea judging by the amount of responses so far that dont check or very rarely check adverts, but feel free to shoot the suggestion down however!

I've sold stuff in the past on photographyireland.net ,but I prefer the new photography section on adverts.
