iPhone - Chinese Imitations

    Hi all.

    Just wondering, if I was to buy a chinese imitation of an iPhone from ebay, would there be anything wrong with me selling it in Ireland (assuming I don't try and pass it off as an actual iphone)?

    Secondly, has anyone tried these iclones?

    They run windows mobile 6 afaik and look pants.

    A better forum for this would be here as strictly speaking they're not Apple or Mac related.

    Personally I wouldn't touch one though, I've experienced windows mobile - I'm still in counseling . . . :(

    I assume from you post you are thinking of doing this on a commercial basis.

    There's a fair few things to consider, not least can you handle any warranty issues that may arise then there's also the whole import tax and VAT issue to sort out.

    You'd want to import a fair few to make it worth your while.

    They run windows mobile 6 afaik and look pants.

    Most of them don't run WM6... the ones that do are way tooo expensive.

    The cheaper one (dual sim/no wifi) would probably be the best to import seeing as its low priced (around 120 euro retail) and looks pretty cool, i'd probably get one for that money off the shelf as an impulse buy given half a chance.

    The model is i32 hiphone .. and I think they are bringing out a newer one.

    Oh and they better be as good a price as ebay.. unfortunately thats global trade for ya ;)

    Thanks to all of your for replying.

    I'm not starting a huge import/export business:)

    Someone had asked me to look into getting one for them. I was just checking to make sure there was nothing wrong with do it, e.g. I wouldn't be breaking any copyright or intellectual property laws.
