Love the first four, second being my favourite.

Any post processing done on these? I assume the vivid + 2 is on the camera itself? I'm not familiar with the D300 but was thinking of a Nikon for my upgrade, you're pushing me towards it you know :D

    here they are
all D300 and tokina 12-24, NEF and vivid +2

These dont compare to previous posts (my humble shots included). These are amazing or as prviously described WOW WOW WOW WOW ETC

    I assume 1 and 3 are HDR

I have no idea what "vivid + 2" is.

Was much post processing required ?

I doubt that I will be able to match these when I go to Paris next month.
I have the a Nikon (D80 not D300). I have the Tokina 12-24. There the similarities in our photos will end. But I will have fun trying which is the main thing. Hope I get the weather you had as it looked like the weather was nice

I think you mentioned you were stuck there for work for 2 weeks - tough break !

With all these photos of Paris, maybe this should be the location for the first boards international photo meet :)

    Thanks for all commentaries

photograph #3 is the only HDR, but very slightly, only 2 pictures in it
another shot of that night (single photograph) is this
    DS3_0750_500.jpg
I've only done the HDR because I was testing the technology, publish it here that one because I fancied it more than any other at the time

    all pictures were taken on a 5 frames exposure bracketing (-2, -1, 0, +1 and +2)
pictures like #1 is the "+2" and then brought back to balance using capture NX

#5 has a white balance measured against the arch itself and some perspective correction (done outside capture NX)

#2 and #4 used capture NX's "color control point" (U-technology) to select the blue sky and increase saturation and decrease brightness

RoryW, take your photograph in NEF (or nef+jpg), bring your tripod everywhere and when back let me know and I'll show you what you can do to get the most of your shots

michelleans, vivid is one of the camera settings, but because I used raw files (NEF) I could set that after using capture NX, I don't do much more than exposure and ISO on the camera as almost everything can be done after

as usual, weather was miserable all the time I had to go out to take pictures, only the last day was perfect but only after midday with the best sunset I've seen in years, but at that time I was already at the airport really *****d off for my bad luck

Thanks Quilmore for the kind offer.

I always now take photos now in RAW (NEF)+ JPEG for later flexibility.

    Tripod will be with me.

    fingers crossed for good weather:)

Pics 2,3 & 4 are cracking. The sky in the second shot is lovely.
Just on thing I'd suggest is possibly a tighter crop on the 3rd shot, cutting out the wall?

    Good post!
