How do Regional Airports cause social and economic development in their locality/county/region??

    - Ireland West Airport Knock
    - Kerry Airport

    - Is it through tourism/FDI/employment.....???

    Opinions?

I think you have answered your own question and I would use the word "contribute" instead of "cause"

From Dublin myself , so probably not best placed to comment , lacking direct experience .

I recall how incredible Knock airport , as a CONCEPT , appeared to be long ago . Friends from the West were very glad to see it and I am most pleased to see it's continued success . :)

Being a bit of a red flag flyer myself I was greatly distressed by the AL buggering off out of Shannon . I sympathise greatly with the Munster folk . ( Not when in Donnybrook , however :D) Return all our historic tax investment now , please AL

I live close to Dublin Airport , with many Friends in Swords - which would vaporise into a ghost town without that airport . The positive economic effect of airports away from the capital has to be just as vital .
