You could always use the B.Ed as a stepping stone into Educational Psychology - there is a huge shortage of psychologists in this country

I too would be interested in finding out what other options are out there for me with my B.Ed degree (qualifiy in May) I enjoy my educational psychology lectures, however it's not something I see myself furthering. I will also have a B.A in German too if that helps.

I did a teaching degree (second-level) and at our 20 year class reunion, just short of half the people were not in classroom teaching anymore.

They had gone into a variety of fields - barrister, teacher trainer, civil servant, various administrative posts, insurance, holistic therapies - all sorts of things.

I can apprieciate I could take a whole new career path if I wanted to, but I was mainly asking what else is out there that relates to my degree, that I could get into easily enough if I so wished.

you don't say what area the teacher training is in. Primary or Secondary? If secondary, what subject area?

I did Science Teaching for my degree, I then did a post grad in computing as did some of my friends, some decided to go into computer programming from that and have never set foot in a classroom since and have not put their degree to any use. Other decided to get their degree as something to fall back on and then went and joined the guards.

You may have to do another course after you finish in teacher training if you want to take a completely different career path, but a lot of the time it does not involve spending another 4 years getting another degree.

A degree of any sort will never be a hindrance.
