hi, prob seen loads these type threads so if repetitive, sorry:o....

I graduated from nuim last september with a degree and have been sub teaching since oct - feb in secondary and feb to present day in primary.. did 6 weeks in secondary straight and have month in primary in few weeks.. i am not applying for my postgrad in primary ed (hibernia hopefully) until next year so was just hoping for some advice for the coming year for work..

should i keep subbing (finding hard not having regular wage, mortgage an family commintments)

or apply to do learning support/resource. whats the chances i'll secure something without postgrad

or finally, someone suggested i go for SNA for the year as will provide regular wage and experience

sorry if its long winded just needing some advice from people in the know
    thanks ;)

I was in the same position as you.. except that I didnt have the mortgage but I did have rent to pay at that stage.

I was lucky in that I had very regular subbing work around 5 or 6 schools. I'd recommend applying to Hibernia asap if thats your choice of postgrad.

Take any experience you can, be that subbing or LS/Resource hours.

But.. if you want the financial security for a year or two, and being in the classroom is important to you to gain experience, SNA is an option.

    Good luck!
