PS3 on broadband open to virus/mallware???

Sorry if this is a stupid question (or if answered before i couldnt find it) but if a PS3 is connected to broadband is it open to virus/mallware attacks as a regular PC would be. From my limited knowledge i understand you can get certain mallware from just visiting websites etc, so if you use the PS3 for internet browsing is it possible to be effected?
If so my next question would be, is there any update/sw protection against this?

Its possible in the future, but for now, no real exploits or virus exsist.

The operating system on the PS3 just doesnt have the same security holes as windows, or osx, Its a pretty secure operating system, So i wouldn't worry about it.

you could try to limit your web browsing to the ps3 sites, this would ensure there is no malware or spyware, not sure if it would really matter. Would it bother you if someone else knew your latest score in COD4?

Here's something to think about from Joystiq:

    Security exploit

That's the PC playstation store, a totally different thing.

The PS3's architecture is very closed, hence it is quite unlikely to be succeptable to malware etc. People are too busy writing malware for windows to concentrate on the ps3. And those that are concentrating on ps3 software are doing so to crack it for piracy.

Neither is stored on your PS3. Your PSN password might be something to worry about, but assuming someone manages to crack that, all they can really do is buy games or pretend to be you online- your credit card number can't be viewed (it's mostly x'd out), just changed.
