How do I disable enemy explosives in COD4? I have the perk enabled but it doesn't seem to do anything and I cannot unlock the backdraft challenge. I am playing on Xbox 360.

Yep, the perk only shows them up so that you don't run into them too easily. You get the Backdraft challenges by shooting the explosives.
