Thanks to Choice Cuts, Wu Tang Clan's most consistent rhyme spitter is coming to these shores once again. I missed him last time he was here so I'm not going to miss this! This is definitely a gig you want to pencil into your hip-hop diary ;)

    Ghostface Killah
Tivoli Theatre , 135-136 Francis Street, Dublin 8.
    Thu 15 May 2008, 21:30
€25 (tickets available from usual outlets)

I can say that I will not be going.

The last show was absolute garbage. I was at the same level of excitement as you appear to be for the last one. Very very disappointed. And prepare for lots of gunshot sound byte intervals between every song and maybe every verse.

I would much prefer to see GZA bringing his Liquid Swords gig here.

Seriously? :( You're right, I was really excited when I saw that he was playing here again (as I said I missed his last gig), but after what you said my excitement has dwindled considerable. Was he really that bad???

I'd personally like to see Method Man do an Irish gig (and not a festival gig).

I thought (and ALL my friends there!) thought it was terrible. He had the Theodore Unit on stage with him and each had a mic....and where not afraid to use them at any time they felt like it!

But there where some nice moments, like when he done some of his verses from Cuban Linx and a few jams from Supreme Clientel and Ironman. Most of the time it was too difficult to figure out what song he was doing with all the grumbling from T-Unit.

He is garbage and he worse live.

choicecuts should have tried to bring red & meth over there touring the uk soon enough.

You have tried to bring weezy over when he toured uk this month shame on u :)

Damn :( I think it still might be worth a punt for €25 but if there is anything better on around that time then I'll probably give Tony Starks a wide berth ;)

Btw was he on in The Village last time? Also was Trife Da God with him? I rate him very highly as an MC and would be going to see him as much as Ghostface.

Twas the village and thank the good lord that i got guest listed! Not sure if Trife was there, possibly was.

You probably should go, just to satisfy yourself...you might kick yourself in the future for listening to my opinion.

I'm thinking of giving up going to gigs now, dont think anything can get better than Edan & Dagha a couple of weeks ago.

Choice Cuts can be very hit and miss to be honest but at least they are trying to get decent hip hop artists to gig over here.

I know what you mean about not gving up gigs, I used to go to loads but most of them ended up being disappointing (Aesop Rock was the last good one) so I only go to a selected few. But in saying that Lupe Fiasco next weekend then Atmosphere & Brother Ali in late June could well be worth alook.

I'm still annoyed at missing Aes Rock....gosh darn jet lag hit me like a tonne o' bricks that day.

Atmosphere and Bro Ali are a must. The last Atmosphere show I seen was brilliant.

Ghostface is not garbage. Your opinion is now invalid (no offense).

Just cos his last gig wasnt great isnt a good reason to miss this one.
    Ghostface is a hiphop legend.

When do tickets go on sale? How many does the venue hold? I saw him at the Village, it was one of the best concerts I was ever at. It was up there with Nas and Naughty By Nature who were both unreal.

What's the latest on the Ghostface DOOM collab?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,555 ✭✭✭✭AckwelFoley

Ghost face is not one of my favourites of the Wu tang.

Id love to see Russell Jones live. aka ODB.

Sadly now, no one will see him live. :(
