Window Boards

    Hey guys,

    Just wondering if 11" deep window boards would be too deep for a standard 4" block and a dry lined wall?

    Also is it standard practice to put window boards on kitchen window, and in the bathrooms, or just tile these?

    Just trying to figure out if the price Ive been given is on the expensive side.

    Thanks,
    G

    It depends on how deep the insulation is.

    Say, 100mm insulation, would work out at about;

    (block return) 30mm + (inner leaf) 100mm + (insul.) 100mm + (plaster) 15mm + (overhang) 25mm = 270mm

    Looks fairly spot on for 100mm drylining, 11" is ~275mm

    Cool. Thanks for that. With 11" they're going to have to glue the boards which could be a bit of a pain.

    I might just tile the bathrooms and kitchen windows.

    senior management wanted granite sills in the kitchen (to match the
    work tops) bathrooms were all tiled (except for bathroom marble) :rolleyes::rolleyes:
