France: Long Term Rent

My Wife and I are thinking of going to France for 3 to 4 months. I’m lucky enough to be able to work from home as long as I have broadband access so we are trying to take advantage of this.

We are looking for a long term rent for this period in the south of France near the coast. So far I have only found one website that is of any real use.

If anyone has done this before or knows of any good websites or agents that specialise in such rentals, your input would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Rentals along the coast will not be cheap. A period of 3/4 months is nor really considered a long term rental, it's more seasonal and will be priced based on the time of year you rent. You will save a lot of money if you rent 20/30 mins inland off the main holiday strip. Try this site Anglo Info for owners adververtising their own properties. This can be represent quite a saving as most agents get a 10% cut from rentals so the prices they charge are a bit higher. Another site worth a look is pap.fr another owner direct site.

    You're welcome.

BTW if you live in a town or decent sized village you can get 16meg unlimited broadband from Wanadoo/Orange for €34.90 per month. That also includes free international calls to most of Western Europe (incl Ireland) / USA / Canada you just have to buy or rent a special phone. Yes I did say free. If you live in the sticks you will only get 1meg for €24.90, I'm not sure if that includes the phone.
