Advice on mounting and framing.

Hey guys, I'm finally going to get started on getting some quality prints done of shots I like, of mine, and getting them mounted and framed. Basically the look I want for them is framed, with a black mount around them and then the mount cut out a little under the shot with the name of the band/singer coming through. Know what I mean?

Just wondering if anyone had any advice or anywhere they recommend?
    Cheers.

You based in the north yea?

try framing fantastic, they do computer cut mounts etc

otherwise invest in mount cutter, if your gonna do more than 5 a week mount cuts, then buy a proper machine. if less than that than get a logan cutter and a rule.

I was also thinking about this.. Is it possible to buy standard mounts and frames somewhere??

Woodies and Atlantic Homecare I think sell some standard ones but I'm not sure about sizes...

I'm in dublin, city centre is no bother to get to, I'm in most days anyway. I wouldn't be getting them too often. But I would like them to look really well. I've cut my own mounts etc before so I was thinking that.

If I was getting a mounted photo framed, would I be better off getting someone to do it or is it just a case of buying a larger frame and sticking the mounted shot in the back?

There are a few threads with names of places that have faded into obscurity (the threads, not the places) so it's worth a quick search too.

Mount cutting without a proper tool thingy that clamps the board in the right place is a stressful affair, and only to be undertaken when desperate... :(
