I took this at the zoo the other day, and while obviously it is a beautiful animal....she could really do without the kids fingerprints all over her!
I know thats the problem with taking shots at the zoo...but untill i can afford to go to Africa its about as good as it gets fo rme!

I kinda like the smear on the glass. :-) I've been trying to get effects like this by using layers but they always turn out pants...

One talented person + Photoshop and anything is possible :D

That means yes someone could fix it, I could even fix it, but it would take alot of work to get it perfect..

A photoshopper could deal with that no probs.

I have the inclination, but not the time at the moment I'm afraid. :o

Too late now but how about using baby wipes or screen cleaners on the glass before you take the picture:cool:

Strangely i knew that someone good with photoshop may have had an idea of how to fix it....thats why i asked.:)

Sorry, just noticed that looks a bit arsey....i apologise.:o

But, what i was trying to get at was the fact that i know there are a lot of people here who are really damn good when it comes to things like this, and i would like to learn what they would do with it..

Eirebear, you're going to need to post a high-res image to give anybody any chance at a good stab at it. I'd love to, but I'm lacking in time I'm afraid.

Cheers Oriel, ill post the original in the morning when i switch the computer on.
Im not really looking for someone to go out and do it for me as such, id rather they were able to give me pointers......but i suppose it would take someone having a play around with it in order to figure it out.
    Thanks.

Since you don't have the original now, here is a REALLY quick, rushed, 5-minute before and after on a low res version.
This is nothing close to what I am actually capable of doing, just all I can demonstrate at this present moment in time.
That is only 30% of the work that needs done to it.

It's nowhere near complete, but when you post the original image, somebody here will be able to do something good with it, given the time they have.

That can easily be fixed - even by the very basic editing tools in Aperture or Lightroom, never mind Photoshop. Nice picture...I hope you used a zoom :)

may I suggest you pay a visit to Fota Wildlife in Cork, all the animals without the stupid restrictions of Dublin Zoo* :D

    *most of the animals...

I'd happily take a stab at just getting rid of the smudges for you, other than that I think its perfect, and I agree that the smudges themselves really add to the shot, but if youre after a photo of a tiger, and not a tiger in a zoo, Id happily wile away awhile in photoshop! The bigger res the better!

hmmm having problems uploading the higher res version.
If anyone wants/has the time to play around with it gimme a shout and ill figure out a way of getting it to you.

Cabaal: Its an awful long trip from Glasgow :D although Blair Drummond is pretty good, just up around Elven's neck of the woods

Well, yeah there was a lot more "damage" than I thought :P and I have to get offline now so heres what I did, I think Ive looked at it too long but I cant see anymore obvious smudges, but point em out and Il zap em away :)

I just used simple cloning and painting, I simplified a lot of the out of focus background, partially cause this made it easier, and also cause I think it works fine darker, but thats personal preference I suppose! Hope its of some help!
