    hi all.

We are just after re-installing Windows Xp on a PC we where building see here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055257963

Not everthing is working. We have Cubase running and all is well BUT the floppy drive wont work. We need it so we can save work to them and then put into the Keyboards.

We have tried 2 Floppy drives. and 2 sets and leads.
We open my computer and the floppy drives does show there !.. we also check it in the device manager and it says " This device is working properly "

This happens on board Floppys ? why wont it read the floppy disks ?

    any ideas?

Have you tried different disks? What happens exactly when you try to read a disk? Event Viewer (I think the System part) will show errors regarding reading disks. I've left floppies for about a year and came back to them only to find them completely unreadable...

Also, how old are the floppy drives? They could be full of dirt (especially if the PCs were on the floor) and or the heads could be dirty. You can head cleaning disks.

i'll try those and see what happens.

I dont know how old they are. We dont have alot of floppys to try in it lol.. So i'll have to get some new ones.

I'll post my finds soon (maybe tomorrow)
    thanks.

also there is nothing in the Event Viewer. So we have totally no idea whats wrong.
