    Hi there,

I have a problem copying and pasting in Excel from one workbook to another.

When i go to copy a full sheet to another workbook, sometimes when i copy i get an error message saying that i can only copy 255 characters from any one cell during to action. And it then goes and removes everything for the 256the character and onwards from every cell that had 255+ characters.

Copying cells on their own is fine but i cant do this for everything. Does anyone know a way around this, or can i increase the number of characters even?

Open the workbook you want to copy from
Open a new blank workbook you want to copy to
Right click on the tab you want to copy and choose Move/Copy Sheet.
Select the new blank workbook you want to copy it to and tick the "Make a copy" box

    That should work.

Nah, still the same. Its says that that is the answer in a few places on Google but its actually not. Driving me gaga now.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Edit: Got a mate to sort it out with Excel 2007 and save as old file type (not .docx). Cant believe there is no work around for this though.
