Is it possible to use an add-on mic (i know they are available) and some VoIP porgram such as good ol skype on an ipod touch?
Myself and the missus are off around the world :D and this could be a very good and cheap way contacting home in a wifi environment if its possible?

cheers for any and all help,
    scobius90

Yep, you need to get the SIP-Voip app from the installer (oh it has to be jailbroken). Then buy a mic from the net, do a search for ipod touch mic.
    Then you'd need a VOIP provider, I use blueface.ie
