Urgent: New Race Helmet Required!

    Hi guys,

Need to get a good "race" helmet (needs ECE standard and all that stuff) this evening somewhere in Dublin. My first race is this week-end and I dropped my helmet the other week and I'm afraid it won't pass scruteneering...

Is my only option Bikeworld? Are there any other places I could get good helmets (no Arai if possible)?

    Thank you in advance! :)

Indeed I am Nereid! I'm racing in the Pre' 97 Category (the cheapest place to start!). I have a 1995 Honda CBR 600 which looks a bit shabby but goes like fook! lol

    Great stuff!

must keep an eye out for you when I go viewing.

What's the number on the bike? I'll be sure to drop over and say hello in the paddock!

Of course, I should have added some info that you were actually looking for re helmet. Can you not just get any helmet as long as it has the British Motorsport sticker on it, it should pass scrutineering.

Congratulations and the very best wishes for the future.

I started at pre-80 (yes I'm that old) with an old (if I remember correctly) Yamaha RD400 (air cooled and twin shocks).

Anyway, best of luck - safe racing, and now that your on your way to get a taste for speed, wheelies, power slides and getting the knee down you might want to consider dumping that ol' Bandit your riding ;)

Very best of luck once again, I'm jealous.

As for the helmet, I got a second Shark helmet (exactly the same as the one I dropped...) in Bikeworld. So I'm sorted! :D

Oh and by the way, the British Standard is no longer enough for racing... Helmets have to be ECE 22-05 Approved and have a manufacture date of less than 5 years... Tough guys these scrutineers! :p

Hey! Leave my "ol' Bandit" alone! She's a great bike! I love her to bits (first bike and all...)!

But I have to admit that when I go from the track (with a 100bhp CBR) to the road (with my Bandit 600) it feels awefully slow! lol :D

Won't be long before I get that Gixxer 1000... Anybody got 15k lying around by any chance?

Anyway Mairt (a.k.a Mr Pre '80! lol), why don't you get yourself an old pre '97 and come join us for the craic? You know you want to! ;)

And good to know that about the helmet standards.

I also know of someone selling a k3 complete with spare fairings, wheels etc for 3-4 k.
