If neither of you is entitled to free legal aid you'd be better off with a solicitor. They have to advise you upfront of the probable costs. I can't imagine it would cost more than €600 if there are is no property or children involved. Here's an article which says a divorce costs a minimum of €3000 but I'd ask a solicitor myself. Costs nothing to ask!

Hi, I was granted a divorce in March 09. I filed for divorce with my solicitor in July 06. It was not contested and assets were split equably. My bill is 12500, my ex husbands 7500. Why the huge difference, do you think? my soilictor said my bill would be around 7000. The bill is itemised but with costs for each item. What can I do?
