Computers and your eyesight.

I spend quite a large portion of my day looking at the computer screen, maybe from a distance of 2 feet or what-have-you.

Then when I turn on the regular TV (all the way across the room) It's very blurry
and I struggle to read the listings/scores on sporting events. It gets better after a while.

I'm wondering have I caused permanent damage or is it just that I'm so used to looking(focusing my eyes) at a screen so close normally that my eyes are not used to looking at a screen further away? Maybe this will resolve itself over time?

    Anyone have a similar experience.

I'm thinking of booking myself in for an eye test.

Are you viewing a CRT monitor or a flat screen.

Use a flat/lcd screen and you won't put as much strain on your eyes.

Ok don't think there is much more you can do so only to take short breaks every now and then. Go for an eye test and that will reveal all. Maybe you need glasses.

2 feet from a laptop is fairly impressive, im 2 feet from a 20" monitor at 1680 right now. What res and monitor size is it? I had a laptop with a 15" widescreen and 1920x1200 native res, that was a beatch!

    Try using large icons, etc.

Firstly, take regular breaks from the screen, look out the window or in the distance as often as you can.

OP, My advice, book yourself in for an eyetest and if you need glasses, get A/R lenses. Sorted.
