Playstation network : failed please help

Hey guys,

Well since the 2.20 update, I get my nat type to fail alot so I tried a network connection test on the ps3 and the first two headings are successful but at playstation network it says failure yet I can sign in and play call of duty and rainbow. Is everybody getting this or is it just me?, could someone help or check if they are getting it? And if someone has a solotuion please post.

Could someone check if they are getting this also because I wanna see is it just at my end. Cheers in advance.

Mine all come up succeeded and UPnP not available but now my NAT Type which i had previously got to Type2 is now showing Type3.
And i had awful trouble trying to get Type2 before.
Is this all to do with the update?

Im nearly sure its the update, I was looking at ps3 forums and alot seem to have your problem http://community.eu.playstation.com/showthread.php?t=237271 . Anychance are you with eircom? because this playstationnetwork failing is annoying me

Yea im with eircom its strange and annoying alrite. Unless updating the router firmware would help but i dont seem to be able do that either .

A lot of people are having the nat 2 changing to nat3 problem, even very experienced ps3 people, so its safe to assume that its something to do with the firmware.

If you want it back in nat 2, could dump it into the dmz and wait to find out if ports have maybe been changed...

Mine stayed in type 2, and went into type 2 without any help from me initially.

Funnily enough when i was playing PES 08 yesterday at HT the ''ERROR SIGNED OUTTA PSN'' notice came up in the right-hand side of my screen, i started to get pissed off since i was winning 1-0(and a disconnection is a 3-0 loss) but then the second half started and i was able to play, that never happened before, never checked my settings though but that happened since i downloaded the 2.20

Mine has stayed at nat2 with eircom but the playstation network test failing I wonder will it fix by itself or is it something I have done

Interesting...just checked mine there(im eircom too, it's only ever eircom customers who have PS3 probs') and mine sayd NAT3 now but i was playing PES and COD online last night and i can play PES now(which i could'nt before when i had a NAT 3, everyone on PES showed up as RED connection but now there normal). Is anyone having any problems or is it that it just says NAT 3(which only appears to be the case with me so far)

If you were in a nat2, that means that all the ports are open for current games, if you have switched back to nat3, it means that there is the possibility that future games will not work, maybe a new game coming out wont work, maybe they added ports to the firmware specifically for a new game/app.

Im guessing but it seems that your router hasnt added the new ports, and hence you will have all the ones needed "now".. so shouldnt see any problems at all, but may in future.

This is all speculation on my part..

I had a ****load of people from here on my list before, just deleted them all, there was no differance playing someone from here then someone randomly(did'nt know the person either way) can't wait for a year or two when everyones online be a buzz then playing your proper friends!

I was never able play kane and lynch or tekken5 online with NAT 3 then when i got it to NAT 2 it was grand but now its back NAT 3 and cant play them anymore. Very annoying

yeah i know what you mean, its quite easy to fill up the friend list with absolute strangers who you might have one game with. It will be great when the majority on the list are offline mates, it happening slowly but surely..
