people sitting on high stakes heads up tables alone

there will be a few tables open say 100/200 or 200/400 with one person on each yet one wont join the other and they will sit there for hours waiting for someone to come play yet their is a guy waiting to play the exact same game on the same site i have noticed this on most sites and wondered why it happens
?
anyone shed any light on this ?

they wana play against people who they beleive they have an edge on and in the long run will profit from.

The different people sittin there are probably well known to each other and play it for a living and dont play against each other as it would be like Negreanu and Ivey playin each other everyday,pointless.

Some newer sites also do deals where people get 100% rakeback or similar deals to play on the site to get the action going at levels where its quiet, in most cases they have to sit on at least 1 empty table as part of their deal and cant join tables with waiting lists or other join players at a table getting the same deal

i heard cooker thought pl was a low stakes fish who is running hotter than god and would be surprised if he wasnt playing busto stakes in a year... though i think he only said it cos pl was scene wearing his "who is this cooker noob anyway" tshirt...
