    BOL do some good battery units. TLP have a multiple battery charger. I'll see if I can find a link to it but I've seen they have a unit that will do up to 4.

    I'm looking into it for you, and my god they are cheap!
    Price just 13,25 EUR
    This extremely cost-effective multiple charger is just what you need for reliably charging your NiCd rechargeable batteries. With an input voltage of 230 V, it provides 6 charging outputs at 50/60/60/140/180/600 mA for simultaneously charging rechargeable battery packs consisting of from 2 to a maximum of 6 cells (7.2 V).
    Only prob is not enough cells! I'll keep looking!

    The xBase Multi provides you with an affordable, computer-controlled universal quick charger which allows you to charge both traditional rechargeable NiCd, NiMH and PB battery packs.
    The 5 outputs can be used separately or at the same time. It provides the enthusiastic model sport user with a high degree of flexibility while enjoying his hobby both outdoors as well as indoors.

    * All 5 outputs can be used simultaneously
    * Each output is allocated one green charge display
    * A green LED displays the power supply contact
    * Charger is protected against short-circuit and reverse polarity
    * 5 outputs for 4mm banana plug
    * 1 x 700mA / 7.2V DC
    * 1 x 200mA / 6V DC (140mA / 12V DC)
    * 1 x 150mA / 6V DC (110mA / 12V DC)
    * 2 x 70mA / 6V DC (50mA / 12V DC)
    * NiMh/NiCad 4-10 cells

    *Requires battery connection leads

    23 euro!

    It's a good brand and a good website! Don't understand the charger numbers thing!

    so do you have a link?, i;ve never seen this make myself

    I'd be very, very wary of that charger.

    The one I was thinking of wasn't a TLP, it was this Systema Quad charger. From what I hear, they're worth the money.

    The other option, if you want an all-in-one rental solution, is one of these.

    Each of those outputs is fixed though. Two of them at a very low current and one of them at a very high current. There's really only two useable ones there.
    At 70mA the average 2Ah battery most large-type battery users would use would take about 28 hours to charge. At 700mA it would take just under 3, that's a fast charge, even for a NiMH that's a fast charge. Wouldn't advise that on NiCds at all.
    So taking the scenario of 5 rental guns (I'm presuming this is what you want it for Martin, correct me if I'm wrong) with 5 large type, NiCd, 2Ah batteries, and assuming all batteries are completely dead, a full charge for all 5 would take:
    Battery 1 - 28 hours
    Battery 2 - 28 hours
    Battery 3 - 13.5 hours
    Battery 4 - 10 hours
    Battery 5 - 3 hours (assuming this doesn't damage itself in the charge process first due to the high current)
    Frankly that sounds like a nightmare.

    The 150mAh and 200mAh ones are fine except that the voltage seems a bit low for a charge on the average airsoft battery. I was under the impression airsoft battery chargers delivered a higher voltage than that, by at least a volt.

    Also, it's not an intelligent charger, so it won't stop when it's done, which makes the different currents an even bigger pain. In fact, it doesn't even give you an indicator light to say it has reached a set voltage.

    You can bet your bottom dollar it doesn't come with airsoft battery compatible cables either so you'd have to make them up too.

    well it is meant for rc cars

    all those chargers are only rated for 7.2v max, the SM Systems one on arnies that does 8 looks fairly good and would do the job for MaxForce, might even be worthwhile contacting other siteowners and seeing about getting a bulk deal on a few of them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

    i see the multi chargers as great for sites, but i would not use them at home you normal have no control over the charge program and details it is all pre set.

    maybe if this is for 'The Gathering' Mr/Mrs Maxforce some of us could bring down some charging stations? so all you would have to do is provide the plugs points...if its just generally i think what KD says makes most sense about clubbing together to get a deal.

    i with Puding and Dex on this, anything that cheap is bound to be trouble. If a good station worth its salt is 80 or so euro give or take, i cant honestly see how a mutiple one could be 23...something is not right there....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 519 ✭✭✭Crave

    What are you basing your assumption thats it's useless on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

    Fixed voltage and current terminals I suppose, not much use as per dex's posts.

    In fairness, as a large operation, 100-200 euro seems reasonable for a reliable kit to charge 8 batteries for rentals.

    I'm not denying the other is good, it looks like the best option. I just don't think the one I pointed out is bad, although it may not suit airsoft, I'm sure it's good for something. Anyway enough said on it I think.

    Can bring a TLP 4000C which can run on 12V is necessary.
