I want to buy an SG1, the JG is way cheaper than the Tokyo Marui version. Are the Jing Gong aeg's any good or should I try to save up for the TM?

JG are one of the best clone manufacturers around, If you are getting an SG1 you'd have to make sure it's downgraded of course :)

JG are one of the best clone companies out there and to my mind along with Cyma are responsible for the success of the clone industry. Their Mp5 series were practically flawless and their G36C set new standards for the clone industry.

one thing i have found with them is their hop rubber can be of dubious quality but is easily remedied with a clear bucking from guarder about a fiver or so from e hobby.

you have to be very careful though as JG have a reputation for being over the 1 joule mark and as it stands the G3 series clocks in at 3500-370fps so you will need a downgrade before importation.

Will the retailler do the downgrade for me, do they usually charge if they do?

I have a JG civie aug and am very happy with it, in fact I'm going buying a JG mp5 and JG G3.. The finish on the JG aug is very impressive.. I had some trouble with it misfiring, which I think may have been my own fault:o, so I would definitely recommend them. The way I looked at it was I could spend either €120 on a JG aug or €300 on a TM or CA aug, either of which I could break at a skirmish. I think, for the money, you cant go wrong:)

Yeah the JGs have a good reputation for being a decent airsoft gun.

Obviously you get what you pay for. I have a CA g36c and have handled the JG version. Very difficult to tell the difference.

However Im about to splash out on a JG mp5 after doing my research so Id go for the SG1. Perhaps one of the Irish retailers can get the gun for you as they can be over the 1joule mark

I own a TM SG1. Beautiful gun. I would recomend it.

Im sorry i didnt spend the little bit extra and get the CA version. Think its called a Sartek II or something. Only difference is the CA one has metal recievers.

    Yargh.

I would recommend the TM G3SG1. Got one this time last year and love the thing. Nice weight to it and pretty long too.
I have a JG MP5SD5 and that is a pretty good device too so hard to tell them apart. If JG are making an SG1 and it is cheaper and you can get it downgraded and and and.....
I would still go for one. :)

I'd actually say you made the better choice. I'd take the TM over the CA version anyday.

You can buy the CA metal receiver anyway and install it on your TM.
