Hi guys,

My mum had what the consultants in Saint Vincent's Hospital described as one of the worst fractures of the distal radius they'd ever seen. After 7 weeks, she now has the cast off.

I'm wondering - has anybody else here has had the same injury? If so, I'd really like to know how you are doing, how old you are, and at what stage you started to get some range of motion back at the wrist. My mum currently is unable to move her wrist out of a somewhat downward position (i.e. angled towards little finger direction). She has had internal fixation of volar plating and k-wires (the latter have been removed).

Or perhaps somebody knows somebody else who has had the injury and can tell me about their recovery...?

That would be great.
