I've just got in from college and noticed a bad knot in my hair. I don't normally get knots so I went to the mirror and inspected it. Sure enough, it wasn't a knot but CHEWING GUM! I thought people would grow out of such childish, ignorant and immature behaviour by the time they reached college. I'd like to think it happened accidentally but it's a very small piece, like someone bit off a piece that they were chewing and threw it at me. Chewing gum doesn't tend to end up in hair accidentally anyway.

Sometimes I really hate college. Anyone else had bad experiences?

Whatever you do, don't use a bone to get it out.

Al_Fernz, but then I could look like Pebbles!

6th, looks like I'm going to have cut this out. Argh, frustration.

I could go down the route Lisa took in The Simpsons...

I'll have to use a bigger piece next time.

There's always childish behaviour going on in colleges, especially if it's first year.

I'm on my third year in college and I'm just as childish as I was in 6th year.

Regarding the gum, rub some peanut butter in there works everytime.... or was it mayonaise

never got chewing gum in my hair.

although blue tac often found its way into my hair when it was long.but i keep it short now so its harder for ppl to get it to stick without me noticing

You should see some of the graffitti in the IT toilets here in Limerick, the childishness is brilliant!
As for the humour in my college, a number of lockers on one of the corridors have been re-decorated with the word "penis".
Fortunately, the only "bad experience" I've been subject to was when the poster for my radio show got stolen. They only cost 40 cent so I wasn't too worried.

People never grow up, I've had to discipline several of my slaves recently for attempting to escape. So childish.

Easier solution is to stick your hair in the freezer door...hardens the gum n then just pull it out. Thats what my ma did when I was a wee one

Maybe they just don't like you?

And if they don't, sticking chewing gum in my hair is childish, ignorant and immature behaviour...

I don't like some people. Next time I see them I'm going to put chewing gum in their hair. Might pull their pants down in front of everyone too. Apparently that's the way you deal with people you don't like.

$hitty thing to do if it was deliberate, but probably wasn't. Someone lofting it towards the bin and mis-fired?

We got up to a lot of mad / childish things in college, but they were always meant to be funny (for "victims" as well!), and we certainly wouldn't have dreamed of putting gum in someone's hair ... there's childish and there's puerile.

Some idiot in UCC wrote on the wall of the male toilets in the Boole Library something to the effect of 'how come all the sex propositions up here are from other men?'

Ah that's understandable though ... 'tis UCC, after all!

I noticed when I was in 6th Year that the younger years seem to have a lot less respect and are much more immature. So I am not surprised by what has happened to you!

The only bad experience I've had thus far in college is arrogant tutors. Damn UCD!
