Tax relief question

    Hi
I paid in excess of €25,000 in nursing home fees for my elderly mum last year..afforded this as I had sold my home and was waiting for new one...

Question is this..tax relief is available at 20% on these payments...which would amount to €5,000 however as I only paid €3000 euro PAYE last year, that's all I can get in a tax refund...

What about the other €2000 - can I not roll this over to 2008??? Seems totally unfair...

    Any ideas??

Sorry, you can't roll it forward.

Unless you have an invoice dated to the next year which of course you haven't. dum de dum dum.
