This belongs in BBV sticky i guess but ... meh i doubt ill ever play as good a session of poker again as i did today, hopefully mods will indulge this one. Not in terms of money obviously just played my best :pac:

    13 hour session no breaks:

    2 hardest fields online:

    $100rebuy 153 entrants 3rd $6997
    $1050 Super Tues 357 entrants 21st $2677

    $3 rebuy 2897 entrants 10th $252
    $10nl 2965 entrants 6th $1037
    $10 1 rebuy 738 entrants 2nd $2370
    $20 1 rebuy 458 entrants 4th $1601
    $50nl 1256 entrants 33rd $138

Ok i didnt get rich but it was more the sense of achievement. Bubbled $3 rebuy FT with Aces too :( Sat on my bum for the last 13 hours scoffing my Easter Eggs (Flake and Maltesers) and playing awesome basically. To come top 10 in 2x 3000 runner fields in 1 day doesnt happen very often

Perhaps we can turn this into an anecdotal thread - what's your best session? :)

Mate of mine was moving to china and offered me his killer computer rig for 500 notes (the video card was worth that alone) but I was too broke at the time to buy it. It would be like someone offering you a Ferrari for 10k...

Waiting to meet with Luke Ivory I broke one of my rules and played a few hands of blackjack to pass the time. Finished up with 55 notes I sat into the .25/.50 game they used to have there. Spun it up to 185 when a 1/2 game started, an hour later I was looking at 550 in chips when I baulked at a big call because the chips actually LOOKED like a killer pc to me and I cashed out and bought it! Not my biggest win by a long shot but if there was a rating for how-much-you-want-that-cash... this wins hands down :)

    DeV.

We were out riding on the trail , big harvest moon in the sky lighting up the whole night, she looked over at me and said, tonight is the night, it's perfect. I felt like I was going to explode with excitement but I tried to remain cool. Are you sure girl? Yes I'm sure, she replied, I was getting kinda worked up at this stage and I'm sure my horse was getting worried about the activity going on on his back, I was hoping and shifting like a jackrabbit just of a prison and brought to a bunny ranch,
I jumped off the horse, took her in my arms and for the next 10 seconds I made the sweetest love a guy coulda wished for, she turned to me with the moonlight shining on her pearly white body, do that again cowboy,.. well I sure as hell wasn't finished yet, then all of a sudden I got the bang on the side of my head. WAKE THE FK UP IT'S YOUR TURN TO ACT ....In a flash my horse was gone, my gal was gone , and I was looking down at Seven Duece on my big blind and the general had raised me x 4. I folded my hand, I stood up, pulled up ma britches and kissed the polish dealer full on the lips, she took me upstairs to that old abandoned room , and we made the sweetest 15 seconds of love I've ever had, she was crying out in some strange language but I understood what she was looking for, when BANG, I got a slap on the back of my head, WAKE THE FK UP , IT'S YOUR TURN TO ACT.......In a flash my polish gal was gone and I was looking down at AA on my big blind and the CHief had raised me x 4. I called and won ALL of his chips........HELL YEAH, now that was my best ever session. I gets kinda tired playing the poker these dayz..

I wouldnt consider it my best session, but it was definately my best decision.
It was the sunday before christmas and was in the mood to play a few cheap tourneys. I figured id log onto stars and see when the sunday hundred grand started. It was starting in 8 minutes so i lodged €50 registerd for it and a few others. 4 or 5 hours later i came 20th for $400 or so. :)

Then on christmas day, after all the festivities etc. i logged on again and registered for the daily 15k. 4 or 5 hours later we chopped it up 4 handed for $2.5k each. :D

I've taken a break from poker but last month on pay day I was at home, nothing on the TV and said I'd have a game of cards, bought into PP for €50, grinded that upto $400 playing Turbo SnGs and Cash Omaha Hi Lo (I was just playing for fun), noticed a $320 tourney about to start, registered in it and ended up winning the lot for $7500, was happy with myself then

    25+ buyin session at 2-4.

I scooped a 6.9k pot with two Pair Kings and Deuces AIPF against a massive tilt monkeys A974 rainbow (god those were the golden years of Tribeca)

i get really lazy when i run good, so when i win 3 buyins in a few hundred hands or something I just go quit and go outside and play on the swings, so i end up never having huge winning sessions. something i should change i guess.

My game falls apart whenever I have more than 200BBs in front of me, so I usually tend to quit while I'm ahead because I just know I'm going to try and bully someone off a big pot only to get raised and subsequently find myself pushing with air because "he can only call with the nuts" which I'm duly shown. :(

It's for that reason that I never have great cash sessions, but I have had a few nice tournament sessions.

Playing a single table sat for EPT Prague in the Drogheda Poker Club, finished 4th disgusted with this lame performance i jumped into the Omaha cash game for about 150 and cashed out for 3750 later and went to Prague:pac::pac::pac:

Not the biggest win but probably the one i enjoyed spending the money on the most!!

EDIT: Nice results Dan would not have the patience to grind them small stake rebuys

Biggest Cash spin was in the €100 omaha game in the Fitz. It was playing sooo much smaller than it does now. Sat down, not realising it was the €100 game and sheepishly took out a shiny €100 chip out of my pocket (I had won money playing Brag)

5 hours later I cashed out for €7.5K. The reason I cashed was I looked down at my cards and then looked up at the table and everybody's eyes were staring at my chips.... Luke Ivory even texted me to "Get out". Lambchop had also just sat down licking his lips, and had 2K plus in front of him.

It was a Friday night and I was convinced that the house was going to be broken into... so I hid the money in piles in different places around the house.

The following week was the first time I was asked for a loan of Money. It was the first and last person I ever gave a loan to....and it took 4 months to get the money back, in the end I had to embarress the person into giving me my money.

    Oh I've been there :(

Live?? Probably going into Luke's drunk with €200 and coming out with €1600ish after actually playing well instead of lucksacking.

Online +20 bi on a memorable night at a mates house who had about €60 on paddy powers. Poor LAG omaha scared the hell out of the .50 omaha tables

played end of month 2 days later in the fitz and chopped it best week 4 years ago all downhill since.

Spinning €1 into €100 in the jackpot
Busted out of the tourney, no other cash other than a €1 coin, before I went home (go cash started). I flick the €1 into the air and let it land on the roulette, lands on 8, spin spin, 8 hits. I then run like for for about 6 spins and €36 becomes just over €100, I took €100 and left the rest as a tip.

Hit two straight flushes (one royal) in the Jackpot last week, in the space of an hour or two. Got it in with both. Finished on about 1k so not a monster session really

one that sticks in the mind, last 35 dollars in a/c while back. played 20$ stt and 5$ rebuy, 20 or 30k guar?? was only in for 10dollars and came second outa 1200 or so. think i went on a holiday . . .

Few live sessions were i sit in with 1-200 spin it up a fair bit and wait for the inevitable clash. If in drogheda i just have to pray that top pair, no kicker holds!

Chopped the Jackpot Cash league for 4.7k last year and duly bought into the €100 omaha game for 500 and span it into 6k. Great day

The next day i span €2k into nothing...too cocky by far

Ahhhh Collette, no need to tell us that :p:p:p

One particular session/spin up was in Winners Card Club, turned €0 into €900

Went in and registered (first time there) was given a €10 free chip, "€10 blips on black please" hits black, "€20 on black please" black again... 20 mins later walk away with €300, sit down at 1/2PL and spin up to €900

    Sweet night

    spun 300 into 6500 very recently :-)

Just christmas gone, I won the St day freezout in the ftiz for approx 3k in prize, went to the races and won 4 races on the trot Was about to place bigger than normal bet on the next race (tip) when I ran into an old buddy, chatted and forgot I han't placed the bet, horse lost, that night played a bit of Omaha and couldn't miss...
all this was just in time for moving house which gobbled up every cent and more....

once put 15 euros into the virtual racing on a 66/1 shot whislt I was placing my weekly soccer bet, ...not bad eh...also had the forecast. Niether I nor the cashier could believe it..........they didn't have the money to pay me. had 150 on Monty to win the Ordr of merit a coupple of years to go at 66 to 1. -> 10k for me :-)

to counter I've lost many 150 bets since then but I'm still ahead...

    best one though....
as a kid I lost my fortune , 20 quid near drimnagh motors snooker club, I was devestated, one week later I found 20 quid near the same place, it blew right by me...
I was never surer there was a god than I was that day. (albeit a teasing one) .

Lol Jeff no i didnt actually enter the winners enclosure :( Poker diet yesterday = 2 Easter Eggs, admittedly i felt kinda sick towards the end. Pleasure/Pain! :o

As for motivation.... it's gonna be cliché-time, but i give it my best shot in every game whether it's the 1k super tuesday or $3 rebuy. Almost every tournament on Stars has a decent prize pool and regardless of that, you should always try win every tournament you enter.

I remember a few years back going to play a live game with my brother, i think a 100 quid game in S.E. and for a variety of reasons it only got 2 tables...at the time i was thinking "ah sure what's the point in trying to win this" but brother rightly pointed out a) it's still gonna be 700/800 FTW and b) doesnt matter how much it is FTW, whatever it is it's worth winning.

I was actually very disappointed to bubble $3re FT at the time, i had played 7 hours 35 mins to come 10th, never a nice feeling, but i set the disappointment aside and made some more FT's!

Enjoying these stories too, could be a good thread :)

Day before the Irish Open last year I went into the Fitz to play in the 1/2 round of each game.

Game was full so Denise 'fit me in' by sending me upstairs to the overflow cash tables until a seat became available (place was packed).

I go upstairs with my €220 in chips and sit at the Omaha table with free seats in it to be faced by Tony Cooney with about 8 grand in front of him and two other big stacks of 4k plus. The thoughts of four handed against these guys nearly made me vomit. Not to mention its a 100 Omaha game!

Long story short I run like The Almightly and strut down the stairs like a balding John Travolta about 90 mins later with €2800. Ran out of the place like a scared kitten and paid off the credit card the next day.

    Cash:
Turned 100 into 5.5k live in one session about 24 months ago.
    Tourny:
Split a tourny 3 ways for 1k + 300 ticket. Tourny for 300 ticket was the following friday. Chopped that and got 11.5k, all for a 50 buy in. That was about 30 months ago.

Barcelona, €200 to €14k. While not as impressive as 200 to 24k I only played for about 10 hours total.

ran 100 euro to $14k in 10 days playin mtts in dec 07.

after poker cup in city west came home and ran a 500 balance to 14k in one 12hr session playin just mtts winning a few outright and about 6 final table finishes cashing 9/12.

did the same thing on another account a few weeks later when i joined GJP. tribecca.

And most memorable was way back during the tribecca days getting heads up in the 20k followed by heads up on the 15k losing both and winning the 100 rebuy outright for 4k+ think it was the 10k guarente at the time. won a speed game and a 3rd in the other that day also.5k 27 rebuys if i remember correctly.

god i miss tribecca. dec 07 was the first time i won anything on ipoker over 5k in a month. since the changeover.

Havent played any internet poker in ages but played the pp cheltenham freeroll cashed for $30, worked that up to $180 playing sensible $5 and $10 stts.

Got drunk paddys night threw it into $2-4 worked it up to $500, my connection went bust luckily enough or else id a threw it all away.

The next night said id throw $400 into a $2-4 game worked it up to $1400.Threw $300 into $5-10 got it up to $1100 decided id cash in $700 to $10-20 cashed out $2000.

Nice money for a freeroll didnt think it was possible to run that good
