Upgraded a customer last week to sky +.
Checked rf ch number on old box before i removed it and replaced with sky +.
Customer rang me later and said his teresterial channels were screwed up.
Now, i've been down today to get it right for him.
After trying everything that i know i solved it, well, temporally.
    Heres whats happening now.

Basically i removed everything from the equation, vcr, dvd, sky+.
With just the aerial lead from mast head amp into psu into tv everything works fine...now when i plug sky + into mains and drive spins up the tv channels go all screwed up (at this point there is NOTHING connected to + box except mains lead and NOTHING connected to tv except aerial lead in?????

I'l get him a new box tomorrow and try that, but have any of you ever come across a problem like this before??

Has to be a faulty box radiating RFI all over the place . What sort of interference pattern and what frequencies is it on or is it right across them all? Igf you have a spectrum analyzer did you connect it to aerial lead when box switched on and off?

It's right across all the channels with uk chs being more affected then irish.
I guessed that the drive had something to do with it but in 8 years installing sky i've never come across this problem before.
I'll grab him another box later today and report back.
    Cheers Rippy.

More likely a PSU filter fault?

is the interference like lines of single dots by any chance?
