    Practice!!

Some revision books have sections on tapework

the mocks are generally very hard anyway so chances are your grades will be better in the
    real thing

Yeah practice is probably the best thing for it.....
I got my irish mocks back and i did the best in the aurals - 94/100
I only got that cos i did all the aurals from previous years the night before....
Its the poetry i had a problem with ...the unseen poetry to be exact...:o
Does anyone ave any clue as to where you can get stuff that prepares you for that?!

ClaireTheGreat u beat me by 2 marks!

the main thing i did for the tape test other than listen to other years was look at the questions before the tape started and try to come up with keywords in my head which would most likely be in the answer and then look out for those words.

    practice....
get past examples. www.examinations.ie have good examples, which are old tapes from yrs ago, you can download the to your pc witht he relevant test paper for that year.some are up and some arent.......
practice readin the questions first and then answering them as the tape is played...remember you will hear most of it 3 times, so dont panic...
get used to the different dialects too--->donegal irish, kerry irish.....
