Ahhhhhh, the hot summers of the 1980s.
Anyone remember the Lark in the Park?

Every summer 2FM (or RTE Radio 2, as they were then) hosted free open air gigs in Salthill Park beside Leisureland. Here's a video I found on YouTube of the Waterboys http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=BqLEluPDy7A

Other artists who played include Too Much For The White Man
(Tuam), Mary Coughlan, Tuesday Blue (Limerick), and that band from Sligo who sang "My Friend John".

There were always massive crowds at the gigs.
