    Hi folks
I am trying to find out roughly how much it would cost a travel agent to charter flights of say 200 people to places like Manchester and London (for part of a college project). I am guessing its around €80 a head but if anyone has experience in this field or can point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Cheers
    Neil

I don't think you'd be able to charter a plane for €80 a head, even if it's just to Manchester/London.

Any particular reason for not wanting to go with Ryanair/Aer Lingus/BMI?

my guess would be €150/200 a head.

    is there a prize?:)

    Drop http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/member.php?u=24104 a PM

I think his Irish Kop fan club have chartered flights in the past to the UK, not 100% sure mind you.

Will be approx 250 euro a head, with London you will be very restricted with airspace.

Yeah - your time slots would probably be the most expensive

    HI guys
thanks for the replies. The project is actually to draw up a business plan for a tour operator wishing to do premiership packages etc. The lecturer wanted us to find out costs of charter planes, tv ad slots etc etc as part of it.
hopefully that lad linked above will be willnig to give me a bit of info, he sounds like a man in the know.

    Cheers

Just ring a travel agent, Celtic Horizon Tours for example.

I'm sure they'd help with info.

Technically, the term you need is a "trip charter"

I've chartered 737's in a previous life, "Time Charter" ie 8 weeks, cost worked out at about USD 7,500 per flight hour + fuel, + ferry cost to position the aircraft at your designated airport & return to its home on completion + crew accommodation etc etc. for an ancient example crewed by ex-Soviet type people.

200 pax is an awkward number, you're bordering on widebody (big jet), better if you could pare it back to 160/170 ish.

Try Ryanair, they seem to have aircraft spare sometimes.
