    Hi all,

I have been working for a property company in the city center for the past 2 years and my pay review is due next month.

I know that my collegues are getting WAY better paid than me., which is fair enough as they've been here for 4/5 years but they were telling me that they were put on 1% commission after their first year whereas I was put on 1/4% which is worth shag all to me every month.

I'm excellent at my job and have been pretty much running the office since our receptionist left in January (a new receptionist started today) doing all the duties, ordering stationary, taxi, courier, post etc.

I also work Saturday and Sunday showing houses with a different company to make more money to clear some debts, due to this i am feeling quite strained and tired and feel like my life is revolved around work.

What with rising travel costs (petrol skyrocketing) wear and tear on my car etc 70c a mile is not worth a whole lot to me either anymore.

How do I negotiate the rise that I want? (I also bought a house due to be completed at the end of the year so need a higher salery to get the mortgage)

I would consider changing jobs if I dont get what I want, should I say this to my boss??

    Any advise greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks

if you feel that you are not being rewarded properly for your efforts than maybe you should talk to your boss. Does the company have a pay structure in place?

Show the boss that you are performing very well. Have the facts to back up why you deserve a pay rise.

remember that the property market is slowing down and this may be why they are more hesitent and giving out pay rise then they were four or five years ago
