Just wanted to say congrats to Wexford and either Carlow or Kildare for reaching this years Leinster final.
Isn't it great to see the smaller counties breaking the traditional stronghold ?

Good to see that definitely. Donegal have beaten Monaghan and Armagh as well.

I know three provincial winners from last year have been knocked out namely Cork, Laois and Armagh. I can't remember who won it in Connaught. Was it Mayo? Are they still in it this year?

I heard somewhere that this was the first time in 9 years that Kerry had beaten Cork in u21 football. I was very surprised to hear that considering Kerrys pedigree.

    This is how things stand

    Sligo/Roscommon v Mayo -V- Kerry v Tipperary

    Down/Tyrone v Derry/Donegal -V- Wexford v Kildare/Carlow

I could be wrong, I'm sure Cork and Kerry fans will correct me, might have been 4/5 years.

As far as I am aware Cork were either going for 5 or 6 in a row in the Munster Championship.
Not sure when Kerry beat Cork in the championship was but they definitely won it either 5 or 6 years ago.

So are Donegal a small county in the terms of Monaghan and Armagh?

I think 95 or 97 was our last Ulster U-21, so at underage level we have been underachieving to Armagh.

I wouldn't call Kildare as the OP said, a small county either!
