    Hi,
Can anyone tell me exactly what can be done with a keyboard when it is connected directly to a PC with USB? Can you control the keyboard, see whats on the display of the keyboard on PC screen instead?
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks

you can use the keyboard as a master keyboard for program like Reason. That means, you play the USB keyboard, and when it comes out of the computer, it sounds like whatever instrument you have selected it to sound like...in a manner of speaking

Generally, it's for using the keyboard as a midi controller to record midi sequences and for transferring patches to the keyboard. What keyboard do you have? We can tell you more if we know exactly.
