ABA/psychotherapy?...stuck!

Hello all, I graduated with a degree in psych a couple of years ago, went on to work in one of the 12 ABA schools, still there and now coming to the end of first year in ABA masters. However, the more job searches I do, the less vacancies I can find. Moving abroad isnt an option, and so now dont know if I made the right decision doing the masters. Am very interested in Cog behaviour therapy but dont know now if I should drop out of the masters in ABA and try gaining qualifications in CBT? Can anyone out there currently working as behaviour therapists please tell me how you find the jobs? I'm not limiting myself to the schools as am very interested in working within intellectual disability day/residential services. Lost at the moment as I would love some sort of direction in this career. Also could anyone tell me of the routes you need to take to get qualifications in psychotherapy? Any help really would be greatly appreciated!!!

ABA is an excellent underpinning for CBT. Look up BABCP website for list of UK & ROI cbt courses. UCC do a good one. UCD do one for Children & Adolescents. There are also a few in NI. You don't say where you are. Jobs are usually in the HSE but you'll generally need a professional qualification too, but not always. Look at student counselling services, Employment Assistance Services, Disability Services, National Counsselling Services..... etc
