Hi guys, long time lurker first time poster

As the title says I'm looking to pick your brains about a current project I'm working on.

A friend of mine plays in a wedding band and asked for my help
    with a recording they have.
It just a demo recording they have to give to people looking to book the band an idea of how they sound.
The original recording was made in a home studio and although recorded very clearly and the levels are fine the actually mix is bone dry.
I mean no reverb or any effects at all to warm up the sound.

I suggested to them that making the recording sound like it was recorded at one of their gigs might sound more impressive to perspective clients.

They didnt have access to the original recordings so could only give me a cd containing MP3s or the recordings:(

    So far I've added
A small amount of reverb to the original recordings
crowd noise samples , chatter and appaluse at the end of the songs

So far it sounds quite believable as a live recording
But I'm wondering if theres anything else I could do to improve the tracks?

Im not expecting miracles and this is after all just a demo recording but would
love to hear you opinions and any ideas you might have

    Thanks

Add a very ambient room reverb. as in short decays and room size and mix to taste. Or you could have a really reverb wet version of the tune and mix it in as room mics

I'd say you could A/B it with a commercial cd and try and match the levels and
    eq/tone.

I would EQ the tracks so they sound crisp and clear.
