    Hi All,

Just wondering why there is no discussion here on the university re-designation? It would appear to me that this topic is highly relevant to the members and interested parties of this specific board.

What do people think? Are you getting out there and making sure that it is known that the South East needs a university to sustain the 460,000 people living there? That's 70,000 people more than the average number of people served by each university in Dublin.

Bit surprised not to see a thread on it here.

Thanks aoife000, I saw that but still wondered why there wasn't a specific discussion on it here in the WIT forum. I assume that posters here have some relationship to WIT in one form or another and that they could provide more focussed and less diluted debate than on the general Waterford forum that appears to have people from UCC stirring the debate.

it may be that the post re Waterford University had started in the 'Waterford City' forum first, and that no one posted here, as it was already covered elsewhere, and as well as probably being against the forum rules it's probably a bit senseless to be covering the same topic in two different forums :)

Fair enough. Seems a bit strict to be against the forum rules to have a more focussed debate on a burning topic that is directly related to the forum name but however. ;) I'll keep my posts for the Waterford City forum if nobody wants to talk here.

Its not against the forum rules. I just dont see the point in having a seperate discussion here when there is one on the Waterford City Forum which everyone is more then welcome to post in.

Nobody has attempted to create a discussion here. The City Forum is a wider scope for discussion and it affects Waterford people more then current WIT Students.

    Hope that helps. :)

Cheers Sully. As I was saying to aoife000 I was just a little surprised that there wasn't a slightly smaller/more focussed discussion on the matter in the WIT forum either between students of WIT or other that may lurk around here. I can see your point that it's discussed in the wider forum though. Cheers.

Ya I dont think may WIT Students are pushed about the whole thing, so I think the one in the City forum is the best its gonna be. Plus, I dont see the point in repeating it all here. So, its a tough one to deecide on. :p
