So what photographic delights did everyone get up to over the easter weekend?

I didnt manage much untill today which was pretty damn enjoyable.
Starting out early this morning we headed off to Edinburgh to the City Arts Centre who had a fairly impressive Ansel Adams exhibition going on, alongside a Scottish photographer called Lindsay Robertson, who i must say rather impressed me http://lindsayrobertson.com/

On from there we spent a couple of hours wandering around edinburgh, which is an amazing city with a camera in your hand, with opportunities for pictures around every corner...and then onto everyones favourite photographic destination (well at least untill we can afford safaris!) The Zoo! :D

Im knackered now, and havnt even had the headspace to look at the photos let alone edit them...but 'twas great!

    Anyone else do anything interesting?

Myself and Elven went to Trim and met Danny, then took some photos at and near Bective Abbey.

    Up on my flickr now.

Other than that, I mostly slept and travelled...

I had a few days at home, so I made the most of it & tried to capture some of the beauty of the area.

Armagh, Sligo, Ballina, Westport, Kylemore Abbey, Galway. And some studies at home. What a nice weekend. Two rolls exposed. Who knows when they'll be developed.

I'm not really political, but photographed some Republican marches around Dublin

I was in Cork, and took photographs at Inchydoney, Red Strand and Galley Head. Then I felt very sleepy because I also was taking surf lessons a couple of the days.

    Here's an example from Saturday.

Didn't get up to much unfortunately, t'was a busy drinking weekend. Did get out to the Gearagh again, but it was very much a case of more of the same. Ah well. Gonna make up for it next weekend when we flit off to Edinburgh.

Went abseiling off the coastal cliffs here. No camera to hand, was a fantastic day too.

at the risk of getting myself trashed by either Fajitas or elven: Roen, I have a death wish at the moment. How much experience do you have to have to go abseiling where you were?

    Not at all.

I'm only a little hitler, remember?

Lovely shot Calina:), but if i must be an ass i'd suggest cropping the bottom out and lose the dark patch on the left side, its a stunning pic though. best of luck with your new toy.

It's a nice drop alright. I'll post up a (bad) pic.

I'm about the height of the red line next to the sea stack to indicate scale. We were abseiling to the right of the highest point on the cliff. It's not at all difficult, although my nerves were at me a little as I was a bit rusty :)

MMMMMM How long more is this running? I would be tempted to fly to Edinburgh to see it.

    Thanks.

I've looked at your suggestion and although I can see what you're saying it changes the proportions of the picture in a way that doesn't appeal to me so much. I'll think about cloning out the rocks in the bottom left though; although in principle I try not to clone stuff out.

Could be tempted to give it a shot some time. Thanks a million.

I really like this shot Calina. I wouldn't touch the rocks on bottom left though. I think they provide an entrance to the scene, as there seems to be almost two rows of people that appear to be walking towards each side of it.

With the weather so nice on Easter Sunday, I decided to get out and have a proper look around cork for the first time since moving here. Also thought I'd spend a bit more time getting to grips with my camera, which I definately have not done enough of since getting it. Of the photos I took, I was particularly pleased with this one, though I was disappointed I had forgotten to drop the ISO back to 100 again after some darker shots previously.

I'll be wanting to head back to do a proper job sometime soon.
