Has anyone been to a pre-planning clinic for a one-off build. Did you find it useless? I've heard mixed reports.

Have a trawl back through a few pages and you should find some info. Or you could enter it into the search feature.

Personally i would recommend them every time.

I found my recent pre-planning meet useful enough....
they cover all the usual planning requirements including percolation requirements, site lines, local needs,,etc and give you an idea as to the suitability of a site for a new build.
We left our pre-planning with a good idea of what type of build would be approved and providing we fulfilled all standard criteria whether we would be approved....
I have been told it is also looked upon favourably by the planners when you apply for full PP ....it certainly can't do any harm!

a pre planning meeting is always useful to find out the issues and requirements the LA may have..... its especially useful to have the client hear it from the planners mouth.

They are not useful however, if you go in expecting a definitive answer there and then... you need to read between the lilnes of the planners responses such as 'we would have reservations' or 'we wouldnt be favourably disposed to..' etc
