    so my RRoD machine has been fixed, i've been gratefully presented with a free month of xbox gold, yet every time i try to make use of it i get the above error code. . .would i be overly cynical to believe that i'm being fobbed off. . . ?

    found this on yahoo answers:
    1. Go to the Marketplace blade and click on Account Management.

    2. Choose 'Contact Information' and then enter in your password, then click sign in.

    3. Once signed in, filled out all the information on the next screen (ie: Address, City, Postal code. Province)

    4. Hit 'A' to save the information.

    5. Sign out of XBL or just reboot your 360 (I rebooted mine to be sure)

    That's it, XBL should now be working properly and you should be able to redeem codes once again.
