Lighting junction box inside switch box

I have a flat roof and high ceiling making it difficult to access a lighting junction box later without tearing at the plasterboard (not a pendant lighting fitting). In such circumstances is it permissible to make the lighting connections inside the switch box (easily accessible)?

I take it you would need a deep box, say 47mm, which is not a problem.

If this is possible can normal connector strip be used or is there a special junction box required?

    Thanks,
    Vertical

reci told me the system of looping the t+e supply to the switch and up to the light is now accepted practice here so i suppose what you're doiing is similar to that but i cant say definitively

    Thanks Dave,

I can't see any reason why not, some dimmer switches require a neutral at the switch anyway. From a safety point of view there does not appear to be any downside. In fact all connections would be available 1.2m above floor level, safer than terminating cables from the top of a ladder ( I think working from ladders is one of the top causes of workplace fatalities).

if its spots you're talking about you should loop a t&e cable from spot to spot
and use coffin joint boxes to terminate the lights.you can buy good tall steps easy enough now for maintenance if thats what your fitting
