    Hi All:

AS a footy tog, mainly for local media up North and the odd publication and website from across the border. I have been trying to get my hands on a Digital or hard copy of a pic from a game between Germany and The Irish Free State, from the 8th May 1935. The game was to the best of my knowledge held in Germany, and a Plev Ellis cored in the 3-1 defeat for Ireland.

The specific pic I am looking for is of the 2 teams lining up, showing he Germany team giving the Nazi Salute, whilst the IFS team refused to, and just stood there, after a request from German officials.

If someone could point me in the right direction of a decent standard pic of this I would be most grateful. THIS IS NOT FOR MONETARY USE, its purely personal.

    Many Thanks
    K.

You should try some of the sports agencies, such as Inpho or Sportsfile. Not sure if either was around then though.

Newspaper archives in National Library definitely worth a shot.

AFAIK that game was played in Dalymount Park, and it featured in the recent Documentary Dalymount Days screened on RTE and presented by Liam Brady.

An edited version of it is here:
